What We Treat

Mold disease is one of the overlooked epidemics in modern medicine affecting nearly 10% of Americans. It is generally triggered by exposure to the inflammatory agents in water-damaged buildings including mold, bacteria and particulates, small dust-like particles.

In susceptible individuals, a severe metabolic disturbance results called Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS). CIRS is the scientific name for mold disease and is characterized by out-of-control inflammation throughout the body.

The symptoms are far-ranging and nearly always includes fatigue. Since fatigue is such a prominent symptom, patients with CIRS frequently get misdiagnosed as cases of fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and depression.

Common symptoms include weakness, unusual pains throughout the body, blurry vision, shortness of breath, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and learning difficulties. Due to this diversity of symptoms affecting different systems in the body and overall complexity, it often takes years before a patient is properly diagnosed.

Sadly, the most typical result is the patient is never properly diagnosed and never properly treated.
